I came to take some pictures and hang out with horses who are free to roam around. If I could make a living selling horse photography I probably would do just that. But, I have always been slightly intimidated by fenced in horses. I used to take some beginning English riding lessons in Griffith Park with my friend Yakira, that was years ago. I have always been fascinated by animals and horses are no exception, but they required a bit stronger of a hand than I was used to using. Then life changed and I just never went back.
Conrad is our friend Zoe’s horse. He is a horse who gets to run wild on a number of acres in Topanga Canyon. A lucky, dusty, free roaming horse who didn’t even want an apple, but did take a tiny taste of pumpkin bread from Starbucks. Haha! It was nice to just walk around near the horses with no expectations from either side. Well, I didn’t have any. The horses may have!
Cranky pants horse, as I nicknamed him, decided to nibble at my boot on the way out. He was pretty cranky, and free to go his own way, but was totally hanging around. It was a fun day for horse photography. Hot, but relaxing and Pierce got to sit on a horse for the first time ever and said that it was the best day ever! Here are some photos, I hope you like them.
A day spent with friends, animals and nature is a very good day indeed!
